Confrontation. Media, some of them holding up their press cards, watch nervously as gardai with batons drawn, demand they leave a doorway on the Merrion Road, from where they were safely observing a battle between hunger strike protestors and gardai, in which many people including innocent bystanders were injured during a garda baton charge.
